Be part of a friendly team - make a difference Volunteer!! WHY VOLUNTEER?
WHAT IS INVOLVED? We are looking for volunteers for a wide range of activities, in all parts of Wales. Some volunteering may involve telephone work, some maybe computer based or involves driving – whatever skill or opportunity you can offer we would love to talk to you. You will be assigned a co-ordinator or field worker who will be available to support you and answer any questions or put to rest any worries you may have. Epilepsy Wales is committed to equal opportunities for everyone. We actively welcome volunteers of all ages, from a wide variety of backgrounds. We welcome a person with epilepsy, someone who knows nothing about epilepsy, but is interested in learning more and giving a little time VOLUNTEERING ROLES Epilepsy Wales provides a generic service i.e. we work with adults and younger people, children and parents, adolescents and older people. Our work takes us into people’s homes, clinics, schools and universities and places of recreation and employment. Volunteers in all areas require Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks as we deal with vulnerable people. WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS DO The following is just a taster of what our volunteers can offer. IT Support Co-ordinators Epilepsy Wales is increasingly taking advantage of developments in IT. As an IT support volunteer you may be involved in a variety of areas, depending on your skills and the time you have available. For example:
Trustee Board Members Epilepsy Wales is a registered charity, governed by their own Board of Trustees, who are ultimately responsible for the quality and range of the service. We welcome new trustees and new ideas. Epilepsy Wales values all volunteers. They are issued with identity badges and introductory packs. We offer in-house and external training, support, supervision and opportunities for personal development. WHAT NEXT?
