My name is Fiona Kettell. That’s me in the picture enjoying the beautiful
Welsh countryside with my son Jack.
I am very happy to be able to say that I have now officially started my work as Project Manager for Epilepsy Wales
covering the Urban II area of West Wrexham.
Many people still do not realise that if their epilepsy prohibits them from driving they are entitled to free bus travel in Wales.
They can also apply for a disabled persons railcard with discounts of up to one third on a range of tickets.

They can contact their local Railway station or National Rail telephone  0845 784950 for an application form

The Wrexham and Deeside Epilepsy Support Group has been running for
6.5 years. They meet on the last Tuesday of each month at Llay Miners’
Welfare Institute from 7:30 PM and hold a Drop In at the Shotton
Information  and Resource Centre on the second and fourth Wednesday
of each month from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

They provide support for anyone who has epilepsy, their families, friends
and carers. The groups are social and the meetings at Llay consist of
discussions on epilepsy, topics of Interest and general knowledge quizzes.
There are also trips to places of interest and Buffet evenings at the Institute.
The group’s policy is “help yourself” - and it works.
